My Sewing Story

I started sewing at school at the tender age of 8 — I soon became a tall teenager and realised that if I didn’t want to wear half mast trousers, I’d have to make them myself! That spark led me to study fashion design at university, where I fell in love with pattern cutting — the magic behind a great fit.

Then came life: children, work, and the rise of fast fashion. Sewing quietly slipped into the background.

Years later, during the stillness of lockdown, I dusted off my machine — and something clicked. In that full-circle moment, I knew I wanted to bring my love of pattern cutting into the digital age and share it with others. That’s how this little PDF pattern company began.

It felt only right that my first collection would be inspired by the 1980s — the decade that first sparked my love of sewing. With a nod to the silhouettes, energy, and spirit of that era, the designs reimagine 80s style with a modern, wearable twist.

Now, from my home studio in a Yorkshire village steeped in textile history, I create sewing patterns with clean lines, flattering shapes, and just enough edge — for women who want to sew stylish, well-fitting clothes they’ll actually love to wear.

And who is always by my side? — my beloved dog Myrtle is with me every step of the way, making sure I take plenty of breaks and walks through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
